Change for Hunger:  And the winners are...In 3rd place with a total collection of $113.20, is the upper high school, in 2nd place with $113.71, is the lower high school and in 1st place with $138.36, is the 4th/5th grade class!  Congratulations to the winning class and a job well done by the entire school for participating in a beneficial service project benefiting the Elgin community.

Geography Bee Update:  Congratulations to Will Healy for being named National Geographic GeoBee Illinois State Competitions Semifinalist by National Geographic Society.  Will is going to compete in the Illinois State Geography Bee competitions held at Heartland Community College in Normal on Friday, March 29, 2019.  What an incredible accomplishment!

Spring Band Concert:  Bravo to all band students!  The concert was wonderful and everyone sounded great.  Ms. Rome and I are extremely proud of the performance that was put on Tuesday night.  Maxine Lange

Scholastic Book Fair:  Thank you to our amazing chairperson, Ronda Feltes and her committee, for a successful Dino-Mite Book Fair!  The book fair raised $1378.57, which is $229.46 more than last year's sales of $1149.11, with $63 in donations as well.  We appreciate all who shopped the book fair and we are grateful for more reading materials for our students.  "The more that you read, the more things you will know.  The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."  Dr. Seuss

Pi Day/Albert Einstein's Birthday:  We will celebrate Pi Day and Albert Einstein's Birthday on Thursday, March 14 with a fun-filled day including a special guest artist, a Pi-K relay, and creative art and cooking activities.  Please be sure to have your child wear their purple or high school sweatshirt for this unique spirit day filled with learning, fun and special visitors!

Earth Day Project:  We are asking all families to please send in plastic bags for an all-school Earth day project.  Clean out those drawers and help save the planet!  Let's see how many plastic bags we can collect.
